Music Monday #11

Its the last Monday before we enter into 2021. I can't even sum up what this year has been. Dumpster fire is accurate, but its put so many things into perspective- so I don't think its been a total loss. Here are some tunes that will be helping me usher in the new year.

Shawn Mendes ft Justin Bieber- Monster

Lemonade ft Don Toliver, Gunn & Nav- Internet Money

Black Eyed Peas and J Balvin- RITMO

Unlike Pluto ft Mike Taylor- Everything Black

A Special Music Monday.....on a Friday (Its Christmas!!)

So my janky old computer is being mean and I can't share my favorite playlist (all Carol of the Bells). So I'm sharing three of my favorite Carol of the Bells videos instead (and yes, the Pentatonix one is good enough to share again).

Even if you don't celebrate Christmas, or you just aren't feeling it this year, I hope you all have a happy and safe day. We're almost done with 2020!

Pentatonix

Lindsey Stirling

Trans Siberian Orchestra

Do you have a favorite Christmas song? Or favorite version of  Carol of the Bells? Leave it below!

Music Monday #10

It's almost Christmas- can you believe it? I feel like we went from nine years of March straight into December.

Here's a little playlist to make your day more merry. Its a little bit of everything, and you can definitely tell that I have kids.

I will say- the Charlie Brown Christmas CD is one of my favorites to listen to, even if its not Christmas. There's a lot of classical songs on it and its just so relaxing. Lindsey Sterling and Pentatonix also fall into these categories. They are great for Christmas music, but also make awesome anytime music.

Music Monday #9

Christmas songs! Christmas songs! Honestly guys, I haven't been in the spirit this year. But I do love Pentatonix (yes- these are all holiday songs performed by them), so maybe if I listen to them enough, I'll feel less Grinchy.

And yes, I know that Kanye's Coldest Winter is not a holiday song. But its still awesome.

Coldest Winter

God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen

Mary Did You Know?

Carol of the Bells (my favorite Christmas song ever!)

Music Monday #8

This will be the last week until the New Year to have any non holiday music (or that's the plan anyway). This one is all about female singers- let their mighty voices launch you into the holiday season full of grace and power. I feel like this should be a Spotify list- but then you'd miss out on all the cheese in these videos.

Christina Aguilera- Fighter

Kat DeLuna ft Elephant Man- Whine Up

Ashley Tisdale- He Said, She Said

Ashlee Simpson- Boyfriend

Lindsay Lohan- Rumors

Britney Spears- My Prerogative

Music Monday #7

Hey guys! I'm still not sure if I'm ready to jump into the holiday music spirit just yet (its so weird hearing Christmas songs at the store- I feel like we just celebrated Easter), but some of those playlists will be coming soon (I especially love my Carol of the Bells list). For now, here are some songs that Pandora and the regular radio have gifted me :)
Machine Gun Kelly ft blackbear- My Ex's Best Friend. I feel like I get some major emo vibes. Fall Out Boy maybe? I don't know, but I love it. Its so catchy.

Kane Brown ft Swae Lee and Khalid- Be Like That. A very catchy way to tell someone to kick rocks. The beat sounds happy, but it really isn't lol.

Lil Peep and ILoveMakonnen ft Fall Out Boy- I've Been Waiting. Toss Fall Out Boy on a song and I'm there. But today's theme is catchy songs, and this falls into that category too.

G-Eazy ft blackbear- Hate the Way. Its been a blackbear week too I guess. This isn't as upbeat as the other songs, but still love. (Why do I like G-Eazy so much?)

AJR- Bang! Yep. I said what I said.

What are you listening to right now? Has Christmas crept into your system yet?

Music Monday #6

The holiday music is coming! But not today lol. Here's some good music to keep you company on a drive or if you just can't listen to anyone else drone on in a Zoom meeting.

5 Seconds of Summer- Teeth.

All Time Low ft blackbear- Monsters

Sam Smith- Diamonds

Miley Cyrus- Midnight Sky

Hope you all have a happy week! Thanksgivings yall!

Music Monday #5

This Music Monday is all about The Weeknd! I thought I'd share some of my favorite songs by him/featuring him. No videos this time- I thought a playlist might be better for this.

Whats your favorite song by The Weeknd?

Music Monday #4

I think I've mentioned this before- but I have been on a little bit of a cleaning frenzy this quarantine. Its not a constant thing- there are definitely weeks when I am motivated to do absolutely nothing. But during one of my cleanings, I found a lot of old mixed CDs I made to play while driving (I told you- the radio and I aren't friends). Most of them are too scratched up to play anymore, but here is a small sampling of the songs that I managed to hear (its a real mixed bag lol).

G-Eazy ft Charlie Pluth- Sober

Justin Timberlake- Supplies

Lindsey Stirling ft Lzzy Hale- Shatter Me

Juvenile- Back That Ass Up

Fall Out Boy- Dance, Dance

Music Monday #3

I have to say, I'm really envious of everyone living in areas where it feels like fall right now. Its been in the low 80's here, which is considered cooling off. I'm ready for Uggs, sweaters and all the blankets!!

Anyway, this week's Music Monday is a mix of radio, Pandora, and YouTube- enjoy!

Juice WRLD ft Marshmello- Come and Go

Lil Nas X ft Billy Ray Cyrus- Old Town Road

The Weeknd- Party Monster

G-Eazy ft Mulatto- Down

Music Monday #2

The radio hasn't let me down too much lately, so here are three songs that were all found while listening to the radio. Please note, I don't do edited content if I can avoid it. If an artist chooses to use words that are explict or disturbing, I will allow it, because of artistic freedom and the fact that they felt they needed it in their work. There is a video listed that has some offense words- just warning you now.

Gabby Barrett- I Hope. So I actually like the version with Charlie Pluth better (and thats the one they play on the radio), but this is the actual video and I'm visual- so here you go.

SAINt JHN- Roses. Its just so catchy- great to drive around to.

DaBaby ft Roddy Ricch- Rockstar. So this song bothered me for the longest because its shares a beat with another song, and I couldn't remember which one it was. That song is Rehab by Rihanna and Justin Timberlake- so you don't have to go crazy like I did. I appreciate it on its own now that I figured that out.

What are you listening to these days?

Music Monday #1

Have you ever driven around, just listening to the radio, and three out of the four stations you listen to are playing the same song (and its one you don't particularly care for)? Or they're all playing commericals? I've had that happen quite a bit recently (I can't afford satellite radio right now, otherwise I would be listening to Pop2k, Lithium or Octane). So I decided to hook my phone up and see where iTunes takes me. I have a lot of old music on there, so its been fun to see what plays. Here are six songs that I have really enjoyed hearing again.

PVRIS- My House. I guess Machine Gun Kelly has recently used her vocals on a track, so this song has picked back up in popularity.

Khalid and Normani- Love Lies. This one isn't too old- but it was played constantly on the radio, now they never play it. It was used in the Love, Simon soundtrack, and I loved it the first moment I heard it (loved the movie too).

Fall Out Boy ft Demi Lovato- Irresistible. Its just a fun song (fun video to for all you NSYNC fans).

Childish Gambino- Heartbeat. I love Childish Gambino. Like no question. Not sure whats up with the censorship in the video, but do yourself a favor and buy any and all of his music (especially this song).

Carah Faye Ft the Crenshaw Elite Choir- Gold Plated. If I'm alone in the car and this comes on, I will sing it. Loudly. This is a song to sing to get your feelings out.

Janet Jackson- If. Everything about Janet is iconic. And this song is an ultimate girl power jam.
